Inspired by "Black Tortoise" in Chinese mythology <Shan Hai Jin> which is a mythical auspicious beast with a combined body of turtle and snake. It indicates the North in directions, the Winter in seasons, and the "Yin" in "Yin-Yang" doctrine. It was the beast of water in ancient Chinese mythology who ruled the rivers and rains inclusively.

Black Tortoise is made of DC material and has a deeper tone with less sustain and more percussive timbre. It's more suitable for rhythmic playing.
