Sicilienne is a style of slow dance music that originated in Sicily, Italy, with a rhythm in 12/8 time or 6/8 slow rhythm, a lyrical melody, accompanied by broken chords, and a melody with appoggiaturas, very similar to the Pastorale.
【Sicilienne, Op. 78】, is a short work by Gabriel Fauré, composed in 1893. It was originally an orchestral piece, written for a theatrical production that was abandoned.
