As an outstanding percussionist spanning classical, contemporary, and jazz music and active on concert stages at home and abroad, Chenchu Rong has been hailed by the American media as "a percussion leader in contemporary music", "a rare musical pioneer " by world music master Dun Tan, "a pioneer of oriental percussion and jazz" by UNESCO and "the pride and future of oriental jazz" by jazz master Jerry Bergonzi.

Since 2008, Chenchu Rong has won major awards at home and abroad, including the second place in the Artist Category of the Global Percussion Competition in Greece, the champion of the Singapore Chinese Percussion Competition etc. and earned the title of "King of Drums". She has won numerous awards in the field of Chinese percussion as well as in the field of Western percussion. After that, Rong Chenchu was invited by the world music master Dun Tan to perform in his works as a percussion soloist and guest percussionist in various parts of the world. She has performed with UNESCO, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Abu Dhabi Arts Global Summit, the Getty Museum of Art in Los Angeles, the Lyon Symphony Orchestra in France, the Royal Netherlands Symphony Orchestra, the Stuttgart Symphony Orchestra in Germany, the Tuscany Symphony Orchestra in Italy, and the Rotterdam Symphony Orchestra in the Netherlands. He has also performed as a soloist in major theaters and music festivals in China. Guangzhou Xinghai Concert Hall has even opened the first jazz percussion concert in the Guangzhou Jazz Festival in 2021.

In addition, as a soloist, Chenchu Rong received support from the National Arts Foundation for the project "Liangzhu" by Professor Yang Yu, head of the Department of Music Engineering at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. She represented Chinese artists at the opening of the 4th China Import Expo, the opening of the 20th International Music Festival and the Guangzhou Xinghai Jazz Festival, bringing a different kind of percussion sound and experience to the global media in 2021. 

In 2012, Chenchu Rong started her own percussion group "ChuChu percussion Vibes" and performed a series of percussion group performances. In 2012, she started his own percussion ensemble "ChuChu percussion Vibes" and performed a series of percussion ensembles. "In 2017, she set up her first jazz ensemble "In 2017, "ChuChuVibes-Easterners" was founded and toured nationwide, incorporating traditional Chinese music with elements of jazz and modern music, bringing the beauty of percussion and jazz together. 2019, the second jazz ensemble " CHUCHU Vibes", on the basis of the first band, will incorporate the charm and characteristics of the Chinese traditional Chinese instruments, and freely combine the East and the East, classical and modern, improvisation and art.


In 2020, "CHUCHU Improvising Vibes," the third chamber orchestra, is dedicated to the exploration and pursuit of music, timbre and sound with a higher demand, combining sound and space, sound and nature under the motive of complete improvisation. In addition, combine and develop different instruments from China and other western countries, and strive to bring modern percussion and modern percussion ensembles to new heights and create a new percussion benchmark. From 2022, Chenchu Rong continues to cooperate with many domestic folk music inheritors and successors, and establishes the fifth band "ChuChuVibesX" New National Style. She is committed to promoting the heritage and development of folk music. In terms of composing, Chenchu Rong is integrating more development directions, commissioning works that fuse electronic music with percussion, jazz with percussion, hip-hop with percussion and adapting many traditional Chinese instrumental works with a perfect fusion of jazz. From 2019 to 2021, she has composed a number of repertoire and chamber music works and premiered them in various municipal and district competitions in Shanghai, and many of them have been awarded the Outstanding Works of Shanghai Qunwen in 2020-2021.
